Gaucho Sleep Challenge
UCSB Department of Health & Wellness presents to you the Winter 2018 Gaucho Sleep Challenge!

This 7-day program (Feb. 9th-15th) is designed to promote sleep awareness within our campus community & help you catch better quality Zzzzzzz's. Each day we will have a primary sleep goal for you to try achieve to promote optimal sleep each night. However, you'll get points for all healthy sleep behaviors such as:
- Wake up at the same time everyday
- Exercise for at least 20 mins a day
- Sleep for at least 8 hours a night
- Eliminate electronics use before bed
- Engage in a relaxing routine before going to bed (reading a book, taking a bath, etc.)
You will earn 5 points for every health sleep behavior you achieve in your daily logs.
Each day, you'll login in and record how many of these activities you accomplished the previous day. Each activity or practice is worth 5 points if you achieved an optimal outcome.
All participants who earn at least 105 points (average of 3 activities a day) will be invited via email to the Gaucho Sleep Challenge Lunch & Prize Drawing Finale event. At the event, winners will enjoy free lunch and will be randomly selected to win either a FitBit Flex, a Hydroflask, or an Amazon Fire TV stick. Those that attend will have first pick at prizes (if you have registered, filled out the required exit survey, earned 105 points or more, and logged all 7 days).
If you cannot attend the event, but are qualified for the prize drawing (if you have registered, filled out the required exit survey, earned 105 points or more, and logged all 7 days), you will be contacted via email if you have selected for a prize. You can pick your prize up at the Dept. of Health & Wellness Office, located in the GREEN HALLWAY at the Student Health Service Building.
Gaucho Sleep Week Kick-Off Event

Location: SRB MPR
Time: 2:30PM- 3:30PM
Remember, To Be Eligible for Prize Drawing:
- Fill Out The Registration SURVEY
- Complete the Required Exit Survey
- Log everyday from Day 1 to Day 7
- Earn at minimum of 105 points (5 points will be awarded for every healthy sleep behavior you achieve on your daily log)
Completion of this Gaucho Sleep Challenge fulfills the Sleep & Stress Reduction Requirement of the Gaucho Wellness Challenge.
